79% of smartphones shipped in Q2 of 2013 were Androids: IDC "The latest numbers from IDC confirms the dominance of Android  has it marches towards the 80% mark . In comparison iOS from Apple stable is steadily sinking  

The report shows that nearly 79.3 percent of smartphones shipped in Q2 of 2013 were Android devices with  over 187.4 million Android units  shipped. In Q2 of 2012 over 102 million Android units were shipped, which is  market share of 69.1%

Apple's share of the global market slid to 13.2%  percent in Q3,2013 from 16.6% in the year-earlier period. Handsets running Android, meanwhile, jumped to 79.3 percent from 69.1 %

No 3 and 4 was lead by Windows Phone with 8.7 million units shipped for 3.7 percent of the and BlackBerry  with 6.8 million units shipped for 2.9 percent of the global market share.

Out of Mobile Vendors ,Samsung shipped 73.3 million Android phones which represent 39.1 percent of Android phones shipped. LG was number two on the list of Android vendors with 12.1 million smartphones shipped."
