Apple Announces its Mobile OS Redesign iOS 7

Apple - Press Info - Apple Unveils iOS 7: "pple® today unveiled iOS 7, the most significant iOS update since the original iPhone®, featuring a stunning new user interface. iOS 7 is completely redesigned with subtle motion, an elegant color palette and distinct, functional layers, while  the typography has been refined for a cleaner, simpler look, 

Among the many features and UI ideas, the main design points were:
–A revamped icon system, based on a grid that harmonizes the many tiles of the UI
–Redesigned typography and  new color palette
–Distinct functional layers for apps and navigation screens
–Abundant use of translucency that creates hierarchy among layers
Siri in iOS 7 features has been upgraded with new voices, so you can choose from either a female or male voice in English, French, or German, with more languages added over tim

–A swipe-up control center for commonly used functions
  iOS 7 has hundreds of great new features, including Control Center, Notification Center, improved Multitasking, AirDrop®, enhanced Photos, Safari®, Siri® and introduces iTunes Radio™, a free Internet radio service based on the music you listen to on iTunes®.

 According to Apple CEO Tim Cook, iOS 7 is the biggest change to the platform since the iPhone was introduced five years ago
The new built-in apps all feature sliding, gesture-based navigation. Folders can now support hundreds of apps — the 12- to 16-app limit is a thing of the past. and now you can  view Notification Center from the lockscreen
The camera has been refreshed with improved UI, square photo framing, and new filters
